struggling

For starters, my fyp supervisor just reprimanded me last week. Not that i lamenting his harsh words. More like i felt cheated and abused. Let's just put it this way: if you come from a poor family, chances are that you won't have a happy life in university. My sup scolded me for not printing my micrographs on glossy paper when i was showing them to him during a meeting last week. GLOSSY paper! GLOSSY paper don't just fall from the sky goddamit! And i have like 153 photos to present. Problem with professors are that after so much of studying and research, they kinda lose their common sense. They're just NONsense. Or they have earned so much money that GLOSSY paper costs just as much as toilet paper. I can't help but think i might have kicked my sup's arse in my previous life.

On a lighter note, while i was watching my favorite swordsfighting drama on telly last saturday, a sudden thought struck me. Was life like that centuries ago as depicted in chinese pugilists swordsfighting shows? Men and women pugilists carrying swords and roaming the lands. No studying. No diplomas or degrees. No need for job promotions. Romance and love was just as heavenly. Like do nothing but roam the lands and seas with one's love. Well, if that being the case, i do want to live that era. Then i would be flying in the skies and fighting demons instead of listening to my supervior's crap on GLOSSY paper.

Speaking of the past, isn't it ironic that although most chinese marriages were matchmade, couples stay together steadfastly. Unlike these days where divorces are a norm, considering that most couples get married because they think they have found their right ones for a start. I always had this analogy. If you were to lock two persons of the opposite sex in a room, they would soon relate to one another after a period of time. Like match-making. Because the choice was never there. One has to live with it. But considering that both persons are in similar situations, they'll try to overcome obstacles together cos they relate to one another. On the other hand, couples these days are never in a situation where they're locked together. As such, there was never the forced interaction and never the shared objective to overcome difficulties together. All because they now had choices. Divorce is the easiest way out of the impending lock on the room.

As promised, here's the original eerie photo.
